Walden Ringette is proud to offer a thriving Regional B/C program that prioritizes fun, development, and sportsmanship for players of all skill levels. We’re now accepting bench staff applications for the 2025-26 season, and we’re looking for passionate, positive leaders to help us deliver the best possible experience for our athletes.

Whether you’re a seasoned coach, a former player, or a parent excited to get more involved, we welcome applicants of all backgrounds who want to support youth in sport.

What is Regional B/C Ringette?

At Walden Ringette, our teams compete at the Regional B/C level a community-based stream that provides athletes with the opportunity to play competitively against other associations while still focusing on fun, skill development, and team spirit.

Our Regional B/C program is designed to:

  • Build foundational skills for new and developing players

  • Support athlete growth at all levels of experience

  • Foster friendships and a strong sense of team

  • Ensure every player gets meaningful time on the ice

Bench staff are key to delivering this vision. You’re not just coaching drills, you’re shaping confidence, connection, and a lifelong love of the game.

Bench Staff Roles

Each team has a dedicated group of adults helping guide the season:

Head Coach

  • Leads practices and game strategy

  • Supports player development and confidence

  • Acts as the main communication point for the team

  • Sets the tone for teamwork and sportsmanship

Assistant Coach

  • Helps run drills and practices

  • Assists with bench management and in-game guidance

  • Fills in for the Head Coach as needed

  • Often serves as a go-to for individual support

Trainer

  • Ensures athlete safety on and off the ice

  • Responds to injuries or emergencies during games/practices

  • Maintains emergency action plans and first aid readiness

  • Requires valid certification (see below)

Team Manager 

  • Organizes team communication and schedules

  • Coordinates tournaments, picture day, and special events

  • Helps ensure a smooth, fun season behind the scenes

Note: Each team must have at least one certified female bench staff member present at all games and practices.

Requirements & Certifications

All bench staff are required to complete specific certifications and training based on their role and the division they’re supporting.

  • Respect in Sport - Activity Leader

  • Appropriate Coaching Certification

  • Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Ringette Ontario Code of Conduct

  • Concussion Training (Making Head Way)

  • Standard First Aid & CPR (for Trainers)
